Tuition

The online master of architecture is a 90-credit, 9-term program for Standard Admission students and a 63-credit, 6-term program for Advanced Standing students.

Tuition for the online master of architecture program is charged on a per-credit-hour basis. For the 2024–25 academic year, the per-credit-hour flat rate is $1,403 for Standard Admission* and Advanced Standing students.

Immersion fees are charged on a per-term basis. For the 2024-25 academic year, the per-term flat rate is $250 for Standard Admission and Advanced Standing students.

Please note that tuition is subject to increase at the start of each academic year. Students will be responsible for travel and accommodation costs related to in-person immersions as well as the global experience requirement.

*Standard Admission students who have 1, 2, or 3 course waivers in a given term will receive a tuition adjustment in the term in which the course would have occurred. For the 2023-24 academic year, the tuition will be reduced by $1,403 per credit waived.

Scholarships

RIT Architecture Online may have scholarships available for the students admitted to and enrolled in the upcoming cohort. Applying for Federal Student Aid

In order to apply for federal student aid, which includes student loans, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)The RIT school code is 002806.

To apply, follow these steps:

  • Apply for admission to RIT. We cannot process your financial aid application until you are officially admitted to the university. 
  • Create your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. You will use this ID every year you apply for financial aid and to complete Master Promissory Notes for federal student loans. 
  • Complete the FAFSA.The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal student aid and must be completed each academic year in order to remain eligible.
